Wiggers have fun and give back at Charity Ball 2015The gentlemen of Mask and Wig love looking sharp in their tuxedos, especially with a lovely lady by their side (or gentleman, because we’re cool with that too). December 5th was no exception, as Mask and Wig hosted its annual Charity Ball, bringing Company members, their dates and friends to the historic Clubhouse for a night of music, dancing, and socializing.

The evening began in the Grille Room, where guests could be found enjoying hors d’oeuvres and drinks from the bar, talking with friends, and posing at the photo booth. (Those photos, as well as photos of the band’s performance later in the night, can be found here, on Mask and Wig’s Facebook page.)

Wiggers have fun and give back at Charity Ball 2015Later in the evening, guests were invited upstairs into the theater, where they enjoyed a stellar performance by the Mask and Wig Band. Members of the Company, as well as friends from other groups, sang alongside them in a diverse setlist including everything from modern hits like “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” to throwbacks such as “The Middle” and “1985”. Band leader Wyatt Shapiro commended the Band for their preparation and performance, saying “Charity Ball was the Band’s last chance to enjoy all the hard work we put into rehearsing, and I could not have been more proud of the music we put up there. Even though our band is relatively young- 6 out of 9 members are underclassmen- the talent is top notch and the guys are so much fun to jam with. I can’t wait to see the energy and sound we bring for the 127th Annual Production.”

The event raised over $4000 for Walking for Wendy and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, two charities near and dear to Mask and Wig. Walking for Wending supports pancreatic cancer research and awareness efforts, while the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America supports research for cures to Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We would like to thank Bon Appetit, Copabanana, and City Tap House for helping to make this event such a success. With all of the amazing opportunities we are given as members of the Company, nothing is quite as rewarding as the chance to give back.
